Former President Donald Trump's motorcade has arrived at the Manhattan courthouse where jury selection will begin for his hush money criminal trial. He's the first former president to go on trial for criminal charges. As in any state criminal court case in the county, the pool will be limited to people who live in Manhattan. Twelve jurors will make up the panel that will ultimately consider the 34 counts of falsifying business records against Trump. Six alternates will also hear the case in case a juror on the main panel needs to be replaced.

Strange animal behaviors have been observed at the Fort Worth Zoo during totality, according to researchers stationed in Texas. One of the most bizarre animal observations reported during the 2017 total solar eclipse was of giraffes at other facilities gathering in a herd and beginning to gallop. The giraffes did not gallop this year at the Fort Worth Zoo, but they did huddle together and attempt to enter their nighttime enclosures. The most “dramatic reaction” at Fort Worth Zoo came from the primates. “Right at totality, all of the (gorillas) got up from all quarters of the exhibit and walked directly to where they're supposed to be let in (at night),” Hartstone-Rose told CNN.

Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves confirmed that at least one person was killed in a shooting at the end of a celebration after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl. Graves said the shooting happened on the west side of Union Station. When officers got there, they took two people into custody and immediately started helping people who were hurt. Officials don't know exactly how many people were wounded, but it "could be upwards from 10 to 15," Graves said. The people who came to this celebration should expect a safe environment," the police chief said.

Let's be real: It's all on the line for Nikki Haley in next week’s Republican primary in the Granite State. Video and witness accounts indicate there have been multiple strikes in the area of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza on Tuesday, with many casualties being taken to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. In one video, a blanket appears to be covering a dead body as people at the scene prepare to move the body. "Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital is the only hospital in the central area and cannot accommodate such a large number of people, especially considering that massacres against our people are still ongoing," he said. "There is a major crisis, particularly because we do not have enough beds, especially in the overcrowded emergency room." The Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt is still closed, leaving humanitarian supplies piling up on the Egyptian side of the border. But, Israel has closed its two border crossings with Gaza and imposed a “complete siege” of the territory.
